’m delighted to announce Manchester Scene Stories: An Evening with Paul Banks at The Art of Tea in Didsbury.
Over the past two years, I’ve spoken to an incredible range of people about their experiences of Manchester’s music, club and cultural scenes. I’ve learned far more than I ever expected—not only about the famous venues and nights, but about the people and personal stories behind them.
During this event, I’ll share some of those stories and talk about how the Manchester Scene Stories project has developed.
There will also be an audience Q&A. I love answering questions at these events because they often lead the conversation in unexpected directions—and sometimes bring out stories and connections that even I had forgotten about.
Tickets are free, but space is limited to just 20 people, so advance booking is essential.

Graham Massey and Graham Clark join Manchester Scene Stories Live to talk about growing up in 1970s Manchester and the friendship they formed during those years.
Together, they will look back on the people, places, music and experiences that shaped their lives, sharing personal memories of a city going through enormous cultural and social change.
The conversation will be followed by an audience Q&A, offering the chance to ask questions and hear more stories from their shared past.
